The short version

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Halo collects nothing at all. If you join our waitlist, we keep your email address to tell you when an app ships, and you can leave with one click.

This website

media-mu.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, loads no analytics and runs no tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers when the page loads. The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services, whose infrastructure may record standard connection data such as your IP address for security and operation; we do not use it to identify you.

The waitlist

When the waitlist is open and you enter your email address, we store it, together with the time you joined, in a database run for us by Amazon Web Services in Tokyo. We send one confirmation email, and your address is only kept if you click the link in it. We use the address for one purpose: to tell you when a Mu Media app is released. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future mail. We do not sell, rent or share the list.

Halo

Halo does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. It has no account, no analytics and no network access; it runs in the macOS sandbox and talks only to the system's audio service. Your volume levels and whether you have seen the welcome window are kept in the app's own preferences on your Mac, and deleting the app removes them.

MuWatch and Beep

Both are in development and not yet released. This policy will be updated with their specifics before either ships.

Children

Our site and apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent to the waitlist at any time by emailing care@media-mu.com. We answer within 30 days. You may also raise a concern with the data protection authority where you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes to the waitlist are also sent to the list.
